Benson is 3 months old

Benson is getting so interactive and fun.  He is such a wiggle worm!  He has started to arch his back a lot.  He squirms himself out of his swing every time I put him in it now.  I thinks he likes to do it though so I have yet to buckle him in but I will have to start doing it especially if I am not going to keep my eyes on him.  Bret and I were laughing at Benson the other night because he is so chubby and he loves to stick out his little big belly.  It is so big that I can use it as a shelf to hold his binky on it.  We love our little chubster.  He has started to smile when I give him kisses so now he gets kisses all the time!

Family Pictures

Bret loves taking pictures can you tell!  The majority of the pictures consisted of faces like these above.  I was pretty mad because my friend Becca did a wonderful job taking them and only a few were usable because of Bret.  In his defense though I told him that I only needed one good picture which I got so I guess he did what I asked for.

Easter

Doctor Visit

Benson went for his 2 mo. check up.  He weighed in at 13.1 pounds and 22 in. He has eczema, a little cradles cap, and had to get some shots.  It was so sad to have to hold his little arms down while the nurse gave him his shots.  He screamed and tears ran down his face.  Poor little guy!  After the appointment we went and picked up some Selsun Blue for his cradle cap and vaseline and hydrocortisone ointment for his skin.  He is supposed to leave the shampoo on for 15 min then rinse.  It was an eventful day at the Doctors office.

Battle Of Shiloh

We took a little journey back in time last weekend.  We went to the 150th Anniversary Reenactment of the Battle of Shiloh.  We had a great time.  I was grinning before we even got to the site because I loved that there were so many people decked out in there war attire.  We arrived early and pushed Benson's stroller across the plains.  I guess we went in the back way so we were in the battle site area before they let everyone else through the gate.  We kept setting up our chairs and the reenactors (who were in the trees) would tell us you wont want to sit there with your baby it will be too loud, so we moved along.  There were cannons all around though so we did not really know where to go. All the noise did not really bother Benson and we probably would have stayed where we began had we known what we do now.  We had a good time anyways even though our view of the battle was not as great.  We did get lucky though because we got to see a lot of the reenactors march on and there were a lot in the trees by us.  A lot of them were in character and I even saw a guy showing off his antique gun.  Everyone was really friendly.  A father and son came and talked to us while they waited for their turn to enter the field and Bret asked the little boy if he was having fun and he said " You betcha I am"!!!  It was so cute he is in my pictures holding the flag. The reenactment really made me think about how it would have been.  I learned about all those battles in History class, but it just seems so crazy to me that people would just line up and shoot at each other to try and solve a problem but I guess that is the way it worked.  It would be crazy to be in battle with all the cannons and guns going off it was so loud.
