I AM ABOUT TO PUKE

The morning started out like any ordinary monday morning.  I got ready for work and was just about to head out the door when I noticed something very important was missing.  MY KEYS.  Bret had already left for school so I was on my own for the search.  I tore the apartment apart looking everywhere for the dang keys.  Then I sat down and retraced my steps.  The last time I had seen them had been on Saturday and I put them in my purse.  SO why were they not in my purse?  I figured they must be in Brets car so i calmed down a little bit and text Bret to go check the car when he could.  Now you also have to understand that we only have one key to the car so if it is lost it is a huge deal, plus my car has one of those micro chip things in it so it is really expensive to make a copy even if we had the key.  So in comes the text from Bret ten minutes later and the keys are not in the car.  So I start to hyperventilate, and I feel like i am about to puke.  Bret said to call everyplace we had gone and to check outside by the car.  So I start ripping through the apartment again and for the tenth time i empty out my purse and i reach just a little bit further into the side pocket and my finger goes straight through.  A HOLE!  The keys were in side the lining of my purse.  That sneaky little purse ate my keys.  So two hours late for work i showed up embaressed but relieved.  I am so greatful for the little prompting to keep checking my purse each time with a LOOK harder feeling.

Trip to Nashville TN and Bowling Green KY

We had so much fun on our little vacation with the Chatwins, and the Macdonalds.  We did some driving, ate some good food, visited lots of places, stayed in nice hotel rooms (Thanks Chatwins), got to know each other better, and even found more ways to make fun of each other.  We will have to do it again sometime very soon.

Parthenon

We visited the Parthenon in the middle of  Nashville.  It is a replica of the one in Greece.  It was really detailed and cool to see.

The GRAND ole Opry

The Grand ole Opry. And GRAND it was.  We missed the tour earlier in the day, so we decided to go to the concert that night.  I am so glad we did we had so much fun, and the show was awesome.  We saw lots of performers: Jimmy Dickens, The Whites, Rodney Atkins, Jim Ed Brown, Jean Shepard, Steep Canyon Rangers, Jeannie Seely, Jack Greene, Blake Shelton, Bill Anderson, and Carrie Underwood.  Each performer sang two to three songs.  It was live over the radio so there were a lot of commercials in between. We sat one row in front of the last row.  The seats were in the middle so they really were not bad.  They also let you go down to the stage for your favorite performers so just before Carrie Underwood came on the girls left the boys and went down to the stage.  It was really fun to be so close and see her perform. Bret really enjoyed seeing little jimmy dickens, he told a lot of funny jokes. ex. My wife is Weird.  I asked her if she would ever cheat on me, her response "well who else would i cheat on". Weird.        You know your ninety when your wife says lets go upstairs and make love and you tell her i cant do both.  I have not seen Bret smile that much in a long time.
The funniest and most embarassing part of the whole night can be credited to BRET!  They were calling off all the big groups that came to the concert like a big baptist group, a company party, and they would cheer so everyone would see where they were sitting.  Bret wanted in on it.  They called out a Jr High cheerleading group and Bret just yells out.  All heads turn to him and start laughing.  I guess the cheerleaders were not there so Bret got all the attention.  That Bret always suprises me.

Out on the Town in Bowling Green

It rained the majority of the time we were in bowling green. It limited the activities that we coud do.  But we tried to make the most of it and ventured out in the cold anyways.  These are pictures of the Green River, it was pretty big and looked really muddy.  We drove around and found Western Kentucky University, the campus was pretty nice, a lot of old buildings.

Mammoth Cave in Bowling Green KY

We explored the Mammath Cave.  And the cave was huge.  Not as decorative with stalagtites as other caves I have seen, but still very impressive. It was over a two hour tour of the cave and there were other tours where you could still see other parts of the cave.  There were one hundred and thirty people who went through it with us. While going through the cave there were parts we felt all alone, which made it extra fun.

Our Last Stop

This was our last stop on the trip.  We saw this war sight right off the freeway so we stopped and did a quick look around.  It was freezing so it was really quick.  There was a nice path around the park with informational placks we did not see much of them but we got some fun pictures.
