Splash Country

We wanted to go to Dollywood but thought that since I was pregnant that the water park would be a better idea.  We were so glad that we went we had a lot of fun.  I went on everything but two rides the last picture being one of those that I did not attempt.  Bret went down it six times, He is very brave, the picture does not do it justice it was really tall and steep it was really hard to take a picture because he flew down it so fast.  The lines were not too long and the weather was perfect.  Such a fun place, I want to go again!

Smoky Mountains

We hiked to Laurel Falls.  It was really crowded but a nice hike.  Then we drove around the park for awhile and went up to the lookout tower.  It was a very steep hill to climb to get to the tower. Luckily the climb was only .5 miles long.  It was so nice to be up high and feel a cool breeze, and smell some fresh air.  The National Park was really pretty.

Dolly's Dixie Stampede

Dinner and a show at the Dixie Stampede
Bret saw advertisements for the show and wanted to go.  When we pulled into town it ended up being across the street from our Hotel.  It was meant to be we had to go to the show.  The food was good and the show was fun it had a mix of everything but it was a competition between the North side of the Arena and the South.  We sat on the North and won.  They showed off their horse skills, raced pigs, had choreographed scenes with the horses and riders, involved the audience a lot, and at the end Dolly Parton was on the big screen singing a song.  We had a really good time and enjoyed the show.

She went down like the TITANIC

Titanic Museum
This was one of our last events of our trip. It was a really nice museum and had a lot of cool artifacts, displays, and stories. We had to wait in line for about 20 min. before we were able to go in. I started to feel sick and told Bret.  The next thing I knew I opened my eyes and was laying on the cement, and heard a lady say " Make some room for her"  They let us go right on in and Bret pushed me around in a wheelchair.  I was so thankful that I had such a strong caring husband who was able to catch me and lay me down on the cement and not even freak out.  Later he made fun of me and said that I did not need to be so dramatic we could have waited our turn in line.  I was fine it was just a fluke thing.

IT IS WAY TOO HOT!

Summer used to be my very favorite season.  It is no longer.  Summer in Mississippi is just plain miserable.  There is no escape from the heat.  The only thing to do is swim or leave the state.  I am really considering the second.  Bret and I feel completely cooped up in our apartment.  We plan on going outside for a walk, we step out of the apartment, start sweating and change our minds. I am so lucky that we have air conditioning.  I would not be able to survive without it. I am sick of the heat index being above 105.  I cant wait till FALL!
